Adopted this little goofball, her name is still Jenny on 6/17/2021, and wanted to share that she has been the best little dog ever despite what her record said of having behavior issues she has been such a sweetheart and a great source of exercise and entertainment I highly recommend this animal shelter the people there are amazing and very upfront with the animals if you have questions about each animal. Jenny has gone from a pixie stick 27lbs to a whopping 50 lbs of pure muscle and love since her adoption way back when. Adopt don't shop these animals in these shelters have lots of love to give people

French Fry

Tall lanky dude was very harsh to the dogs. One dog got out and he called the dog stupid and grabbed it by the top of its neck and threw it in the cage. Even if the dog was being annoying there’s no excuse to be rough to a dog or call it stupid. Overall kinda wish he didn’t work there in an animal environment if he doesn’t have the temperament for it.

It saddens me because I love coming here to see the dogs. I’ve came there since I was a teen. I am buying a house next year and have been coming more frequently to find a dog that fits me and my child and fiancé. I’ve never experienced something like that before there and I hope they take it serious as I did tell front staff.

I’ve never been to this animal rescue but I recently had an encounter with a feral kitten on Southfield drive. I spoke with Chris through the dispatch center. Super nice guy!! They rescued the kitten that afternoon. All I can say is thank from the bottom of my heart for rescuing this sweet little baby!! ?

Review is for the Animal Control department:

Called to report a stray kitten that was on the side of the road. I went to inspect it myself but it ran back into the drainage ditch. My guess is there might be a family, or it's separated.

Tried to report it to animal control and they said "we don't really do anything about cats, so dispatch probably won't show up".

I get that stray cats are more common but it was clearly a kitten that was about to run into a busy road. Such a weird amount of apathy

We adapted coco October the 18th 2019 she is Beautiful our family pet thanks Decatur animals service. ❤❤❤she is a shepherd mix pitbull and we love her she is very playful coco goes to training at petsmart.

Friendly and easygoing just felt like they could have fed my dog better the over three weeks he was there They claimed his appetite was low due to parvo which may have been true but he ate like a horse from the moment I got him home I actually had to monitor and give him small amounts several times a day and he went from a skeleton literally to weight on him in a week I do understand that they are short staffed and have alot of animals

The lady there was awesome. My neighbors dog got picked up and she worked with me to get him back even after I was rude to her. I cant remember her name. Only that she recently had surgery. But I would like to thank her for all that she did. I love that dog and was able to give him a good home because of her. Thank you so much!
