Waterford Deer Park - Waterford, Ontario

It was a lot of fun. Took carrots and apples. We drove an hour and a half, not really expecting much. Ended up a nice day out.
I will say, please don't bring your dog or at the very least keep it away. One family brought a lab that barked the whole time, and lunged at the deer any time they got to close. So we really didn't get to see them that much, until the people left.

Please stop feeding the deer heavily processed foods e.g. potato chips, tortillas, bread... whatever's just laying around in your car. Stick to fruits and veg if you're not sure.
Feeding large amounts of these processed foods to deer can result in serious harm as a lot is indigestible.

to the negative reviewer(s) saying the grass is too tall and they need to "do maintenance and trim the grass" that is the deer's food supply, and will not be trimmed. Not to mention; the reason the deer were brought in the first place (To control vegetation)

If you're in the area bring some carrots or apple slices and feed the deer. It's a very cool experience

I was blown away when passing this park on the weekend, I've been through Waterford a hundred times several different ways and this was not the first time going this way, but for some reason it caught my eye and I turned around to see if what I thought I saw, was in fact what I saw.

Here's what I'm going to stress, this place needs community help, so if you're able, stop by and bring your vegetable scraps for the deer, they encourage open feeding, so fruits, vegetables and your kindness is very much welcome.

And of you're more capable, they do accept monetary donations to help with the upkeep of bedding, fences, feeding and everything else pertaining to the upkeep of a nature park such as this.

You feed the deers through the fences. They love lettuce , apples and baby carrots. Not a bad way for the little ones to safely interact with the animals while keeping a safe barrier

Wonderful! Lots of deer 🦌, awaiting food from the spectators. Come feed for free and enjoy the joyful moments with your kids.

the deer were a bit skiddish because it was breeding season apparently, There where a few however that were brave enough to eat some carrots we brought for them :). The deer have plenty of area to roam around and seem very happy.
Friendly people in this area as well, There's also a little park/equipment area just as you come in for kids to play on as well.
