CDH Carpentry performed interior finishing services for our cottage in early 2022, including pocket door installation, wood wall panels (finishing and installation), hardwood door and window trim, as well as coordinating the drywall ceiling and painting trades. They were able to start on short notice, when we had to change contractors, and were able to meet our tight schedule for move in.
Chris Dobbins is very personable and a great organizer, able to schedule his crew and trades (and my wife and I) to keep the finishing process going with no delays. His crew was great to work with - always polite, efficient and tidy - and able to come up with creative solutions to meet our design goals. They also worked cooperatively with other trades that had to do work in the same period.
As an architect, I was particularly impressed with their understanding of fine carpentry details and they provided good insight into a variety of our design ideas, often suggesting several means of achieving our intent.
We have no hesitation in recommending CDH Carpentry for interior finishing services and are sure that their expertise extends to many other services as well.

We bought a 1950’s cottage that needed some/a lot, of updating. Chris and his team guided us through the process. They were quick with solutions and delivered on time with the highest quality work. The project had its quirks as you might expect with such an old structure, but Chris was quick to contact us and explain what had been discovered and what his recommendation was for the fix and the added cost. The cottage is now structurally and aesthetically perfect.
When we decided to build a garage/bunkie Chris was our first and only call. CDH handled everything, from permits, to organizing all trades, to design discussions.
Chris has a great understanding and passion for new building techniques and particularly energy efficient methods. We had lots of discussions on heating for our new build. The system we decided on has been perfect. Its efficient and provides consistent heat throughout the 2 heat zones in the building.
The garage (some might call it the “garagemahall”) has turned out better than we could have ever hoped for. I sometimes think we spend more time out there than in the cottage. It’s certainly a great spot to hang when we have guests..
We are extremely happy with all the work that Chris and his team have done on our property. Whenever we have other projects that need to be done (big or small) our first call is Chris, he is quick to respond and if it’s something that’s not his area of expertise he will recommend someone, all of the recommendations have been excellent.
If you are thinking building I highly recommend CDH carpentry.
