This location has an awesome waterslide that was the highlight of the trip! We loved the room (ours had a separate room with twins beds for our littles)!

The website said that they offered currency exchange (under services offered) as well as laundry which was our primary reason for booking this property. The staff were unwilling to exchange currency for us (like advertised) therefore leaving us unable to wash our families laundry along our road trip. Disappointing. There’s also giant potholes (that were filled with water making it difficult to know how deep they were) in the parking lot. Someone could hurt themselves if they stepped in them and we witnessed multiple people with trailers hit them unexpectedly too which could do some serious damage (one was nearly a foot deep).

Positive: The front desk lady was so nice! She did her job very well and I forgot her name. But the lady working evenings before night shift. Negative: My tv was in and out. The refrigerator has MOLD inside and does not work. People smoking right in front of entrance and exit doors. Parking is ridiclous. Over all, its was ok. I guess.

Good hotel, very nice and helpful staff. Clean rooms, nice and quiet too. Felt safe with the security cameras outside to watch our vehicle overnight. Breakfast was tricky, you have to get them before the big rush or you’ll be waiting for quite some bit before staff replenishes the food. Otherwise, overall great experience, would stay there again.

Not the cleanest hotel, but it works if you need a place to stay. Daughter got a rash from the pool. A little unkempt and beds are rock hard and old. Not sure there are any better options in the area, though. Breakfast staff clearly works hard, and the food was good. Needs some updating, as the shower curtain rod was installed improperly and was about to fall off and take the tile wall with it. Doors that open to the parking lot from your room are convenient.

Amazing value for the dollar. Very clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Made sure our motorcycles and suv with trailer were in safe spots, easily visible from front desk. Breakfast was great too.

Comfortable room but a disappointing breakfast. Eggs were those prepackaged, Luke warm cheese omelettes and the ham looked like they took a package of no-name sliced sandwich ham and heated it in a chafing dish. The only good thing is there are decent breakfasts available in Fort Nelson which are closeby

I am extremely disappointed and upset with my stay at Super 8 Fort Mason, BC. This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.

First of all, the staff were completely unfriendly. I had a particularly unpleasant experience with the front desk receptionist working the day shift on June 29 — a woman originally from India. I arrived tired and ended up getting sick after the first night. Instead of even a hint of understanding or hospitality, I was met with coldness and indifference. No greetings, no eye contact, no effort to make guests feel welcome.

The biggest issue: the air conditioner in the room was clearly neglected. As soon as I turned it on, it blew out dust and musty air — the filters obviously hadn’t been cleaned in ages. I developed a cough, runny nose, and cold symptoms right away. It’s unacceptable that guests’ health is being put at risk due to lack of basic maintenance.

Because of the fatigue and illness, I overslept and missed breakfast. I came down later and saw there was a hot water dispenser, but the tea bags had just been removed. I asked kindly for a tea bag — something very important when you’re sick and need to stay hydrated — and was told that tea is only available during breakfast hours (6 to 10 AM). I explained my situation and asked again. Still, I was refused.

I had to insist and ask to speak with the manager. The receptionist told me the manager wasn’t available. I asked them to call someone higher up if necessary. If it takes that level of escalation just to get a tea bag, something is seriously wrong with how this place operates. After a long back-and-forth, I was reluctantly given two tea bags — but with an attitude like they were doing me the biggest favour in the world.

This kind of treatment is unacceptable. The staff act like guests are a burden — like asking for tea or basic courtesy is a major inconvenience. It honestly felt like I had asked them for a million-dollar loan or for their entire paycheck. Completely unfriendly and unapproachable.

The room itself was old and not properly cleaned. In the bathroom, there were no cotton swabs or other standard toiletries, and the refillable containers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were filled maybe 15–20% of the way. Why? Is the hotel deliberately trying to save on supplies? Are guests not supposed to wash themselves properly or use more than a drop of shampoo?

This left a very unpleasant impression. It really felt like the hotel was trying to cut corners everywhere — saving on tea, soap, and hospitality itself. Not something I expected
