Someone recommended this place to me so thought I’d come here with family for dinner. The decor/atmosphere was nice and the service was good.

The food was a bit of a hit or miss. My wife upgraded her side to the soup (it was ginger carrot that night) and OMG it was so salty — couldn’t do it. Told our server and we changed it to the caesar salad instead. The salad looked great and was pretty decently sized, however, it too was quite salty and we didn’t want to bring it up again so just ended up packing it to go. Other than that though, the rest of the food was fine.

I would give service a 6 if I could! We had an absolute amazing experience. I give top credits to Mark, our waiter. He was such a pleasure. He was friendly, calm, informative and ensured we had a great time! The food was quality (delicious meat, fries not oversoaked in oil, and healthy options - including vegetarian chickpea hamburger - yum!), beer flights were awesome and the atmosphere is relaxing and fun. There is lots of natural light but also, great lighting on the inside. The best in the area if you ask me. And you’ll love the name and nice you discover what it means! Thanks Abe Erb! We’ll be back.

Everything was reasonably priced and made fresh to order. The pretzel bites were fluffy, buttery, and salted well. The cheese sauce it came with paired amazingly. The birria tacos were great, with super tender beef and flavourful birria sauce. The fish and chips had a huge portion size, with well seasoned fries. While the fish was battered well and flaky, the fish itself wasn’t seasoned which made it taste bland without the tartar sauce. The service was amazing, and the interior is very beautiful! We would come back to try their other menu items.

We had our wedding reception at Abe Erb Uptown Waterloo last month, and it totally blew us away. We had ~90 guests, and the space was cozy and intimate—exactly what we wanted. We weren’t looking for a stuffy ballroom vibe, and Abe Erb was the perfect alternative. The atmosphere was just amazing, and the food was *delicious*—everyone was so full from the generous portions! The drinks were a hit too, with something for everyone, and the service was top-notch.

As a professional event planner, I’m pretty picky, but that night, I just felt like a guest because the staff had everything covered. I barely had to speak to them, which is always a good sign! They were so on top of everything that I didn’t have to ask for a thing.

A huge shoutout to Tony, who was awesome throughout the planning process. He answered *so many* of our questions and made everything come together perfectly. His flexibility and expertise really took the stress out of the whole planning process.

It was the perfect night, and the Abe Erb team played a huge part in that. Can’t wait to go back for more of their amazing food!

This is a decent pub fare kind of restaurant. They make their fries in house.

The Smoke Burger was good, but I struggled with the mismatched sizing on the bun and patty. The patty was stuffed and thick, but also small in diameter. The bun was quite large. This made it impossible to eat it with my hands and I had to use the knife and fork. Points for being from scratch.

Others enjoyed their meals, service was friendly, but I wasn't overly impressed with the temperature of the items when they arrived. There were only 2 parties in the restaurant with our group of 8, so execution could be better timed.

Overall, they could change a few things in their service to go from 'decent' to 'great.' the actual menu is unique enough to be exciting. I'd still give them another chance.

recently visited ABE ERB and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was vibrant, making it a great place to unwind with friends. I wanted to especially mention Mark, who provided excellent service. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure our visit was enjoyable. Definitely a place I’d recommend, and we’ll be coming back soon!
