I can Hear again! I wear hearing aids and got some water in my ears that made it really hard to hear. I went to Amplifon Haliburton and Paul cleaned both my hearing aids (that I got elsewhere) and also my ears that had a lot of wax in them (who knew). The difference is amazing. Great service and the ear cleaning process with a small wand like tool was so much better than the water flushing technique. Thanks so much.

I was late due to a snow storm. I did call ahead and explained why we would be late. Everything was ready for us (wife and myself). After paperwork was completed I went first and after being welcomed I had my test. Everything was well explained before the procedure commenced. Since my wife accompanied me I asked if we both could sit together to hear our diagnosis. It turns out that I need a hearing aid but my wife does not. Conversation then turned to my needs. No pressure sales talk, just good answers. It was a very good experience.

I’ve had the opportunity to deal with the staff at the Haliburton site several times over the past few months.I have just received new hearing aids, so I’ve had lots of growing pains with them and have had to contact hometown hearing or go in several times. All experiences have been exceptional.

Ann, the receptionist, who, by the way, is so much more than a receptionist, can talk you through ideas to try to help you fix your problem with your hearing aids over the phone, so you don’t have to make the trip in. If this doesn’t work, she’ll get one of the audiologists, Sarah or Paul to help. If that doesn’t work, they’ll get you in for an appointment with either Sarah or Paul. They always manage to get you in when there is an emergency, even when it means working through their lunch.

There was the time that I wasn’t receiving alerts to when my texts and emails were coming through. Paul sat there with me, and a tech support person from where my new hearing aids came from on the phone for an hour. Finally Paul figured out that they weren’t working because my phone was on silent mode! That was during his lunch! Was he mad? Not at all. We all had a good laugh, and he seemed very relieved that we were able to figure it out.

Then there was the time with Paul, where he was trying to explain to me how to care for my new hearing aids. I was worried I was going to forget what he was teaching me, so he made a video of him doing the care steps so I'd just have to look at the video to remember. How clever was that?

My last experience was with Sarah. I’m sorry, I can’t remember what the trouble was for that visit, but again, she was so patient with me, and took great care to make sure I understood what she was saying.

I’m sorry. I know this is a very long post. But this staff is phenomenal and I just want to get that message across. I encourage anybody, if you’re having hearing problems, or need help with hearing aids, to visit Hometown Hearing in Haliburton. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
