I would be mindful and take a million before/after photos of your move in. Ensure lease states all that will accompany your unit. They deal with private renters and will ignore emails after accusations of theft when asking for further information regarding lost/missing property (that was not listed on lease but still left in tenant storage unit)

Renters BEWARE!!! DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT!!!!! rent from Angie's. It's the worst choice in Medicine Hat, by far.

The rental I wanted to rent had an open house. 3 bedroom townhouse. Perfect for myself and my 4 kids who I had 50/50. Angie wouldn't rent that to me, as it was "too small" for my family she said. False. Instead she insisted she had the perfect house for a family of my size, a rundown 5 bedroom house that was in desperate need of repairs and upkeep.

During the showing, I saw the massive amounts of wall dings, broken cabinets in the kitchen, loose baseboards and overall grunginess of the place. It had sat empty for 4 months over the summer and therefore the lawn was burnt dead and completely ruined. Patchy and full of weeds, as it hadn't been watered or cared for over the hot summer. There were holes in the walls with cheap patch jobs barely done and the vent covers in the downstairs rooms were either totally missing or hanging by a screw from the ceiling. Even the rental had been empty, it was dirty and full of cobwebs and dust, with sticky grime on the stove and crumbs on the counters still. I insisted that it be properly cleaned before I moved in, which Angela agreed to. That absolutely did not happen. When I moved in, there were still crumbs in the kitchen cupboards and the washing machine still had old laundry detergent spills all over it which were covered in dust. There was even black mold in the ensuite bathroom that hadn't even been touched! YUCK!!

I was desperate and so I moved in Sept 2022. It was a poor choice on my part. The house was old and very run down, with cheap flooring done very poorly. Lipstick on a pig is the saying, I think.

Fast forward to Summer 2023 when I was informed by a police officer that I needed to care for the lawn, as the neighbors had complained. I had mowed the weeds but refused to water the dirt patch. In this economy? I'm not spending my hard earned money on watering someone else's weeds. The lawn was burnt and dead when I moved in, and the lease agreement specified yard work, not indicating watering the grass. The grass was nonexistent anyways.

I moved out in October of 2023 and paid $250 to get the old stained thin carpets cleaned. A friend and I spent 8 hours cleaning and scrubbing that place. It was 1000% in better shape when I left it than when I had moved in. When I emailed to get my damage deposit returned, only crickets. Just today I went and inquired about my damage deposit. I was given a print out of all the costs of repair for the wall dings, the holes in the wall, the broken baseboards and cupboard in the kitchen, the lawn repair and a $450 charge for delayed key return, despite returning the key within the notice given.

This company is claiming I still owe them $23.50 and are keeping my $1400 damage deposit aka robbing me blind. Angela was rude and dismissive when I told her I would not be paying for the lawn, or the other repairs to this junky house. The lawn was burnt and dry af when I moved in, as expected when not watered for 4 months in a hot Alberta summer.

I cannot afford to go to small claims court and pay a lawyer $500 an hour for my $1400 damage deposit. It's not worth my time or money or energy. What an expensive lesson to learn and I am posting this review as a warning label for renters in Medicine Hat. Stay far far away from Angie's Worst Choice. DO NOT RENT FROM ANGIE. This company is poorly managed. The property I lived in was rundown and trashy from the get go, yet they made me pay for the repairs and burnt lawn. Angie stole from me. Don't let her steal from you too. Renters BEWARE!!!!

My Ex husband & kids used this service. We were placed in a home that had some damages. We fixed those damages as we lived there. No compensation. Lived there for four years The house was not painted prior to us moving there and they took our damage deposit when I had professionally cleaned the rugs and was better then when we moved in. So no we were not happy in the end. This was July 2011-2014.

Do not rent from these people. They will try to take your damage deposit even though you leave the place better than when you moved in. They will intentionally leave out miniscule items on the check-in sheet and zero in-on-it on check-out. They have a good scam going and they do this because they know most people won't bother with small claims court.

Great team, fast and efficient service. First day I moved in I made a list of things that needed fixed. The next day the maintenance guy came and fixed everything. I had a few issues with the sink leaking and the hot water tank started to leak. Both things where fixed the next day off calling. Never had an issue with them. I lived in a house they managed for 2 years.
