This is a great store. It is very kid friendly, My kids always have a blast. The owner is very generous and always makes it fun for the kids. The reason the toy section is a
“ disaster” (as I read one terrible review). Is because the owner doesn’t micromanage the kids and lets it be a relaxed and fun environment. It’s a thrift store not a department store. They will always get my money.

My family love this place, nicest n only thrift store near our small town.. the 3hr drive is always worth it.. the pricing is great, the variety is amazing. Staff are super polite and the owner does it for a great cause which is to help people not just to make money so I never have a problem spending money there... will continue to go there in the future.

Larry the owner makes young girls feel very uncomfortable, hiring underage minors, and takes photos of girls and kids.

Well never step foot in this store ever ever ever. Buyers beware with your children going to this store!

I have stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer, and I'm a single mother with 3 children. I've been undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy, driving long distances outside the community weekly for treatment. I've been unable to work and am on long term disability. One week ago exactly I had a bilateral mastectomy. I was happy and grateful to hear about the back to school free clothing being offered by Blue Star Thrift Store and the Sagitawa Friendship Society. I went to the event with 2 of my 3 children. I registered at the door, and asked if I could get clothing for all 3 of my children or only the 2 with me. I was very thankful when they said I could have clothing for all 3. They gave me a card to bring inside to give to the cashier. I gave the card to the cashier, and she told me to get a cart and grab clothes for the kids and bring them to the front. I spent an hour and a half making sure the kids found clothing that fit and was appropriate and that they liked. I was exhausted by the end. I found my third child some beautiful things, including a Fox hoodie. We went to check out and the owner was at the front counter. We put the clothing on the counter and the kids helped me remove the hangers. Larry Kornelsen, the owner, helped put the clothing into bags. When he got to the Fox hoodie he stopped, and told me, "How many kids do you have?" I told him 3. He says, "You have like 30 hoodies?!" I said I didn't think that there was an excessive amount of hoodies, but I was sorry if there were. He went back through the bags and went through all the clothes taking out items and putting them aside. There were 12 hoodies in total. He also removed jeans and pants. When he was finished almost everything for my oldest daughter had been taken out. He told me I couldn't have those clothes. He then tried to get me to sign the form that I got clothing for three children, when I did not. I told the kids to leave the bags and we left without taking a single item. I spoke to the lady from Sagitawa outside and explained what happened. I started crying I was so upset.

I followed the rules that I was given. I didn't do anything differently than anyone else.

No one should have to give away anything that they don't want to. If people want to have rules or limits, that's completely understandable.

Choosing to single out someone is an awful thing to do.

I've always tried to help people when I can, and have donated many items to this thrift store over the years. Its when youre down on your luck that you can see who people really are. I will never step foot in this store again or donate anything again. Thank you, Larry Kornelsen, for making me cry in downtown Peace River over back to school clothing for my children.

Toy section is an absolute disaster. It's actually a safety hazard and is not handicap accessible at this point.
As well as they do not check their dvds for missing dvds(as stated by their staff), or their puzzles. Just disappointing as evert other thrift store can do these bare minimums. It's gone absolutely downhill and it's atrocious that it has been allowed to get to this point.

The owner Larry is a big guy with an even bigger heart , he has created a store with nothing but great vibes and treasures galore the content is unparalleled . Per square foot there's more stuff than any other retail store I've ever been to and likely will ever be inside . The staff is so nice they are a delight and always greet me with a smile and never have shown anything other than great vibes every time I come up here from Edmonton I have to visit here . I highly recommend you donate your unwanted items here and I definitely endorse their stuff . with having so much stock my only issue is that I never have enough time to Finnish my treasure hunt but every time I do come I always find treasures !

Fantastic thrift store. The owner goes over and above for the community. His staff are friendly, welcoming and very helpful. You never know what deal you're going to find, so if you're in Peace River stop in and check it out.
