Super beautiful park. There is an amazing sand beach with clear water, it's not too windy so you can kayak pretty easily. There's a playground for children and a bunch of outhouses throughout the park. There is a pretty big campground which looked nice.
We also did the hiking trail that goes all around the camping area, the hiking trail is pretty easy with beautiful views.

Gross shower houses that didn’t get cleaned/maintained. You will have one hook to use in your shower stall. Not helpful when helping children shower and have multiple things to keep dry. You have to walk from a small parking area to the shower house. It’s a very dark path so you will need a flashlight when showering at night. We thought maybe because we showered later, it was dirtier. But we went back during the day and the same clumps of wet toilet paper was still there. Many campsite shower houses have hours posted when they clean. This one didn’t.

The loops, are far from each other. The campground is spread out.

Small rocky beach area in day use area. There is a small playground and an outhouse. The water was great. Nice and clear, sandy, shallow for kids.

Roads in the camp grounds are very narrow and some sharper turns (for towing). We had to back up and go onto another road to let a camper pass. The sites have trees and decent privacy. Other than that, will not stay here again. A friend raved about the facilities at Cold Lake but maybe they stayed at the municipal campground.

We toured the municipal one. The sites were not as nice, smaller and less private, but it was walking distance to the main beach. There were some water front (even more open). The main beach has a concession, flush toilets, and change rooms, and lots of nice sand for sandcastles. There are not many trees for shade but there are shaded picnic areas that are semi shaded on the concrete just before you enter the beach/sand area. There’s a spray park, a playground and a free zip line into the water. The grass and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Lots of goose poop, but there was someone there picking up garbage.

The water was nice and clear, the sand in the swimming area has some rocks as you enter but then it cleared out and the sand was beautiful. There were two docks to jump off of, there was a barge.

Cold Lake itself is beautiful. Lots to see paddling, the water is gorgeous. The sand is amazing. The distillery was great. Will be back but not at the provincial campground. Will take chances at the municipal campground.

Had the opportunity to camp here at our favourite site. No mosquitoes and overall relatively quiet. There was a festival at the main beach but we didn’t make it there. The beach and lake we a welcome addition to our time here. A definite return to spot!

The campground is ver nice, sites are spacious and private. The trails are beautiful, the water is very nice and clean. The only thing is that the trail to get to the beach is very steep and submerged in water, so to travel with kids and beach chairs was quite the experience. We travel in motor home so we didn’t have an extra way of transportation, the way back was a very long one with little kids and a dog. Other than that the kids had so much fun on the water, they wanted to be there every single day we stayed camping. Very nice experience, would definitely come back.

I can say enough good things about Cold Lake!! The town is great, the beaches are nice!! The lake itself is gorgeous! Crystal clear, clean and refreshing water! It's HUGE is size. Alberta lakes have a reputation for being trash, most of them are ... but Cold Lake is in a category of its own! Absolutely beautiful! I genuinely can't say enough good things about this place!! 5 stars!!

My son and I fished here for two days. I can't believe how healthy this lake is. The campground is clean and well managed. Alberta Parks is doing a great job. I should mention that the boat launch is in great shape and easy to use.

Great scenery. Most of the campsites are nice and big. The sites are spread out from each other so you aren't right on top of your neighbors. Showers are a bit far away from most loops so keep that in mind when booking. The only washrooms in the loops are outhouses - some people can't handle that, but I don't think it bothers most campers.
