When I arrived at 3:45 to check in they said..oh you are early...then i got the " one maid called in sick so your room wont be ready for 30 minutes"...but I'm early...I was offered a free drink from the cooler at that point, which I took. When the room was ready I headed up...the elevator looked like it hadn't been swept in a month. Around the edges of the elevator floor were all dirty and the carpet still had a salt stain from im assuming last winter. The rubber edges of the carpet were all previously torn from years of use. The room smelled musty. When I did the bed bug check I found hairs on the sheets. Well I won't stay in that bed....other bed checks ok. The washroom reminded me of the tile floor in a greasy restaurant...you could skate around on it....so I just left my shoes on. No reason to wreck a good pair of socks. Didn't have the breakfast but it looked pretty good, except for the bunch of black bananas in the basket. No visible yellow left on them. My coworkers and I had a laugh about that the next day (I was working nights). He noticed the same banana smell as he walked past and saw them in the basket.
My coworker had a suite and said it was all good but my room...not so much.
I used to stay there three times a year when it was the Holiday Inn. Now that it is the comfort Inn I notice is it is getting less maintenance and starting to get dirty. Also I booked for 4 days and every day was a different price. I thought that a bit odd...Why? I checked out early (see bill attached). So anyway. Won't stay there again...too many other choices. Oh...P.S. the Marriott next door is not any better.
Kicking myself for not getting pictures of those bananas.....

Friendly service in an odd situation. Theres a very pungent smell at this hotel in all the rooms I went into. I tried two rooms with the same result and I couldn't comfortably stay at this hotel. The staff member at the front desk with very helpful. I don't recommend staying here unless the smell has been dealt with.

This hotel is nowhere near what it was before the brand change. Breakfast was terrible (cheapest possible plastic cutlery is not impressive. Food was terrible.), ice machine out of service on our floor (no sign saying so or giving any direction), pool hasn't been cleaned in ages, pool room climate control was inoperable, hot tub appeared neglected and was not even filled to the skimmer intake (likely several health violations here). It appears there is no money being spent at this location and maintenance is bare bones at best. What a shame.

Stayed in a King room on the ground floor for one night. Furniture and linens were in good condition. The bathroom was also clean and in good repair. The room was spacious. There was a desk and chair in addition to a comfortable accent chair with ottoman. A kitchenette included a microwave, minifridge, sink and coffee maker.||The breakfast had varied cold and hot items. Clementine oranges and bananas were available as fruit options. Food was always available during the time that we were there. ||There is a Boston Pizza next door. Tim Hortons and a Sobeys grocery store are just down the street.||Overall, a very good stay.
