I have come here twice for myself and once for a family member.

Knowing how health care is across Canada in general I’m comparing my experience to the baseline I’ve seen.

Each time I’ve went it hasn’t been overly busy or hectic which I am thankful for. Triaged in a timely manner (though everyone can have a listen at what you’re there for due to the layout- which needs to be addressed honestly as it’s not safe for staff nor for patients and confidentiality).

My initial visit the nurse wasn’t super friendly or welcoming and didn’t really do a thorough assessment. However that time the physician was in within five minutes and handled the presentation appropriately. He was kind, informative and in the end presented options very thoroughly. I even received a follow up phone call next shift to receive final results.

My most recent visit was great. Triage nurse was lovely and caring. I had an xray while waiting. Brought into a room where I was thoroughly assessed. It did take time for the doctor to see me- I was there for about four hours. On the whole that’s not a huge wait considering my situation was less urgent in nature. It’s also much quicker than other larger centres to be sure. When I was finally seen the doctor was kind, empathetic and provided me solutions that helped. I also felt seen & heard with my experience and symptoms which is nice- especially since there’s always a worry you’ll be chided for coming to ER for non emergent things. Unfortunately due to nature of isolated areas there isn’t always an alternative. So I was greatly appreciative of his demeanour and care.

The nurse who discharged me was also very lovely.

Each time I’ve been here I had great experiences with the doctors who did what they should have & the nursing staff and rad tech were great.

The absolute worst hospital I have ever been in. I went in with chest pains and the doctor told me it was all anxiety and in my head. This is how people end up dead. Doctors from all over the world you will go through so many you will stop caring after awhile about there names. Waiting times are so slow a snail is quicker

Training grounds for Manitoba's influx of third world doctors. Wait times are beyond horrid and usually just a band aid solution without finding the underlying issues. No walk in clinic anymore. If not for Locums from city my grandson and one daughter would probably be dead if left in the care of the so called doctors at this decrepit institute. The only hospital I have seen hire a fake doctor and take 3 yrs to realize he was not licenced not to mention the money stolen by doctors over billing in ER. What about the docs who went to fist a cuffs over hrs in ER? One was kept the other is now down south practicing after the college of physicians slapped him on wrist. Management worries more about money than your health. Avoid this place if you value your life.

The nurses talk shyt about patients. Won't clean up their patients portable toilets. Disgusting behavior I must say.

Slow service, your normally sitting there for atleast an hour just to get into the ER even when it's empty then the doctors tend to laugh at your problem and they all joke about patients and there problems even though it should be confidential and the nurses are usually very rude especially to aboriginals.

Longest wait times to see doctors , half the time they dont run any tests, and although some of the nursing staff is absolutely amazing, others are cranky, rude and all around unpleasent to deal with.
