We recently had a 11.25 kW solar system installed by Hakai and couldn't be happier. From start to finish the process was very smooth, and everyone very friendly and accommodating. I had quotes from several companies and found their pricing to be competitive. I ended up choosing Hakai because of first-hand recommendations from friends that have had systems installed both recently and years ago. I'm very happy with the outcome, Hakai is clearly very experienced and did a perfect job.

We found Hakai to be very professional from meeting to assess our home to the wonderful workers on our roof! They were a good team and seemed to enjoy working together! It was nice to see women working in the field and respect shown to each other! It was completed in less than 2 days and we were in using our solar within a week ! Hakai Energy Solutions have recently completed a 9.48 kw (28 panel) rooftop solar installation on our home in Nanoose Bay. In researching available systems, we contacted several other solar companies, who, after site visits, provided us with a range of options and prices. We chose to work with Hakai as Nick gave us the most comprehensive plan with the most quality components at the best price. Furthermore, Hakai worked closely with us in a months-long process to comply with new local regional district requirements regarding solar. The installation crew arrived and worked efficiently and took the time to explain the system layout and operation. After the install we received comprehensive support which included multiple contacts and an additional site visit to connect our system to the grid and bring us online. We could not be happier with our new solar system and working with the whole team at Hakai Energy Solutions.

Hakai Energy did a very professional job right from the system quote to the installation and commissioning of our Solar PV Energy System and car charging station. All their technicians were professional, courteous and did a great job of explaining the process to us.

What a great company to work with! We had a solar system installed on the roof of our home. The Hakai team of installers were pleasant and friendly, everyone was on time and the job went very smoothly. Communication was great, they kept us informed of the process and timelines, so there were no surprises. We were on a tight timeline, as we were going away, and they even checked our system on the weekend to make sure all was well before we left. We have been running for over 3 months now and the system is working great. They were able to help us through the current rebate process as well. I cannot say enough about this working with this company, I highly recommend Hakai Energy Solutions!

Update Nov/23: After the first year I am very happy to report that the system is working perfectly! The Hakai proposal estimated that our annual production would be 13,666 kWh whereas our actual production was 13,803 kWh. Based on these numbers our production has offset over 73% of our energy use. We highly recommend the Hakai team!
Our experience with Hakai was extremely positive. From Nick who came to provide the onsite survey, to Claire and Rob in the office our questions were answered with patience and clarity. We decided on a 11.7kW rooftop array for our house. The entire installation crew was courteous, friendly and professional. They took the time to explain what each day's plan was and answer any questions we had. The Hakai staff guided us through the current grant process and took care of permits and the contractor portion of the BC Hydro grid interconnect application. We have only had the system live for a few weeks and even with all the grey days our consumption from the grid has dropped significantly. Can't wait to see what it looks like when the sun comes to stay and our array is exporting energy to the grid.
The only advice I have for anyone getting a residential solar system is to speak with your house insurance broker to be sure your current policy is adequate. Some companies require photos once the system is installed etc.
To summarize, you won't be sorry if you get your system estimated and installed by Hakai Energy!

Hakai was Amazing. Jason is super easy to work with, he explained and answered all.my questions
The crew was awesome, they even cleaned out my eve troughs while they were on my roof installing the solar panels. So I used them again to install my truck charger! Highly recommend Hakai. So much so that this is my first review as I don't bother with these kinds of things!

I reached out to many different solar providers and of them all, Hakai was the promptest and most helpful when it came to all my questions and concerns. Leo always returned my calls and helped me thru the government application process. His office team and installers I found to be very knowledgeable and skilled when it came to the installation. Now that its installed I also feel supported if I have further questions or concerns. I'm very happy with my choice and would strongly suggest them if you too are looking at upgrading to a solar system.
