I was desperately in need of a PC with a more powerful processor, and Hard Drive Cafe had just what I needed! It was also less expensive than what I expected, so I gladly bought it! It's all set up now and it is much faster than my old mini-PC. The customer service was excellent and George is a real stand-up bloke. This shop is my new go-to for computers in Dartmouth! 🙂

I , an idiot, kept years of my landscape photography on an old platter hard drive. These photos are basically my life’s work. It’s hard to describe how important they are.

I let my cloud backup solution expire … oh yes I’ll renew it…. well no I didn’t… and what do you know it my hard drive died. Completely foreseeable, the drive was over ten years old.

Thinking it must be a simple PCB failure and seeing good review on the HD Cafe online I brought it in for George to look at it.

Long story short, he kept me updated on the progress which in the end had to go to a lab in Ontario.. a full clean room, replacement head, platter removal, the most complicated and expensive data recovery possible.

He coordinated the whole thing and was a pleasure to deal with.

In the end I got EVERYTHING back, and a great deal on it $$$ compared to other places

Highly recommended if you ever have data issues !!! I trust this man, which I don’t trust many with my stuff. A pleasure to deal with.

Had a hard drive fail and lost hundreds of precious photos. George was a huge help - even offered to meet me when the store was closed. He gave me an accurate quote and likelihood of retrieval, then a few days later had all of my files back for a very reasonable price. Extremely happy - hope I never need his services again but if I lose more data, this is where I'll be coming. 10/10

I recently visited George's Hard Drive Cafe located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on Main Street. Today was my second time I attended the Cafe. George and Ben assisted me as someone attempted to hack into my laptop and cellphone for rhe second time.

Let me indicate that in short order, these gentlemen rectified my problem and sent me on my way.

Accordingly, I would recommend (highly) that if you are ever facing any computer or laptop issues, this is the Cafe to visit for kind, courteous, friendly and extremely professional help.

George set up our computer, after 3 years it started having issues. We took it in and he fixed it up at a very reasonable cost. When we had one last issue the next week, we took it back and they fixed it again at no cost. He said we were not leaving until we were happy. He and his employee have wonderful customer service which can be very hard to find these days. I totally recommend!

Anyone ever experience a memory card with irreplaceable data on it and it won't upload to your computer!? I was one of those people last Friday, when Georges came to my rescue! Georges even came in to his office on his days off to ensure there were no interuptions with retrieving my data. He 100% saved the day for me and for my client who desperately needed their imagery of an event I had captured. I recommend anyone looking for any kind of repair work done to the computer or software to visit @HardDriveCafe !! Georges is dedicated to his craft and will not let you down! Thank you Georges!

Just making a new review since my last review seems to be in a few years ago. Regardless of how much time has passed the one thing that hasn't changed is the quality and care given to each customer. This is the only business that I would trust with my electronics to give me quality work with excellent communication the entire way. Most recently with my screen repairs time was taken to clean excess dust and debris from the whole computer. This will forever be my first and last stop for any of my computer needs!

My wife “lost” all the files on her computer when the laptop I got for Christmas somehow took over her computer. She was heart broken as all the files she had saved over the past five years were gone. She used her computer for all her volunteer work, for tracking meetings and for the many education modules she had developed over the years and presented on a regular basis.

After struggling with both computers without success, we were advised to go see Georges at Hard Drive Cafe. We were told that if anyone could retrieve the lost files, he could. Best move we ever made.

Not only did he calmly reassure us that he could locate the lost files, but he could do it in a matter days rather than weeks. I left the computer with him on Wednesday. On Thursday, he said he was done and we could pick in up Friday morning. He found them all and organized them into two folders for easy reference. Thank you Georges. You are a life saver!

I highly recommend Hard Drive Cafe, not just for their expertise and commitment to service, but in how they treat every customer with respect and sensitivity.
