Absolutely worth a stop during your stay in Rankin Inlet. Staff were super kind and eager to show us their culture and share what they’ve been working on. Very good collection of traditional Inuit works of art and craft, with antique tools and artwork on display. Lots of good information to help you get around town too. Very clean and professional.

Beautiful building, built in 2018. Each glass showcase column features the art of a community in the Kivalliq Region; Arviat, Whale Cove, Rankin Inlet, Baker Lake, Chesterfield Inlet, Coral harbour, Naujaat. Blankets, sculptures, some stone sculptures even made with no power tools.

They have a book with old photographs from early 1900s, fascinating, even the tour guide's great grandfather has a photo in the book, cool connection.

I learned wolverine fur is the choice for hunters parkas because it's warm but also water repellant. Also that seal leather was used to make goods, not just the fur. There is a Inuit game with a bag and seal bones, you would try and get the most bones out of the bag with one string tied like a noose, challenging! Really appreciate the chance to see it, worth a visit! Sometimes it's closed but you can always email the email on the paper by the front door and see if you can see it after-hours. Special was kind enough to give me a little walking tour of the exhibits. Glad I came!

Just a beautiful place with enough art to satisfy your curiosity. Plenty of documentation and a knowledgeable staff to assist you.

It's a very well done visitors center, nicest one I've seen up North.

Great experience with staff. Artwork all over the place. Carvings, sculptures, textiles, tools.

But some of the best stuff were personal interviews, photographs, literature that's really difficult to find elsewhere.

Note: it is closed for lunch.

Great little visitors Centre with interesting information and displays.
I was only in town for less than a day with work and only had an hour to walk around, went straight here to check it out.

This is the first regional centre for visitors in the Kivalliq. The visitor centre first opened on June 16, 2018. The centre employs three staff, who will formally welcome visitors and showcase taxidermy wildlife found in the region. The Kivalliq Regional Visitor Centre provides a valuable link between outfitters, tourist establishments, guides and tourists. It provides people in the region with the opportunity to showcase their art and culture through direct point of sale of their work and cultural presentations. The staff are very welcoming and the building is very spacious. If you are ever in Rankin Inlet, either for work or pleasure, I would recommend stopping by to check the centre out. Five stars for this!!
