The beef is great, as is the owner. My sister said she loves the ground beef from here because it isn't so greasy and fatty as the store bought ground beef tends to be. We get to try a lot of interesting cuts that either aren't sold in stores, or would be VERY expensive to get, like ribeye or baseball steak (I had never heard of baseball steak) and if you buy a full or half cow then you can ask for it to be custom cut, which means you get a lot more of what you love, and you get the expensive cuts at the same price as everything else. You get lots of soup bones too, hello bone broth.
It can be difficult to get hold of the owner to order your meat or ask for updates, which I get, because this is a small business, but that's the only place where they lose a star.
I have bought from this business multiple times, and will do so again.

I want to preface this by saying this is NOT meant to discourage anyone from choosing to support local farms!
But our experience with KS Farms was not a good one.
We got extremely ripped off for the price versus quality we received, and we were treated very poorly by the producer. I would discourage others from purchasing from them - as they may not treat you nicely or work to come to a fair resolution if you happen to have a problem, also, after speaking with other locals, it sounds like they have sold people poor quality products in past and have a poor reputation overall.
We purchased a side of beef from them this year, and most of the experience was very unprofessional. We ended up with a very low grade product - even though they were priced similarly with other grassfed producers (generally on the high end, so it’s an investment).
They mentioned to me quickly that they would be using their farm licence now for bulk orders. I didn’t know what that meant at the time but that’s my fault for not clarifying (it meant we would be getting uninspected meat).
At first they were prompt and forthcoming when I messaged enquiring to purchase, and their website boasted such wonderful healthy meat, so I felt comfortable sending in a deposit. I assumed the side would be ready in a few weeks since they said they had animals heading to butcher right away.
After I sent in the deposit, they stopped responding so well, and became increasingly unprofessional. They did not send me any kind of invoice or even a written confirmation that they had received my deposit - which then lead to them overcharging us as they didn’t keep proper track. They then refused to refund us for what they overcharged us for - even though I had etransfer proof of the correct deposit amount. They still owe us money!
It also took almost 9 weeks to get the meat we put a deposit down for. I sent quite a few unanswered emails asking for an updated timeline of when it would be ready throughout the long wait.
We requested a few times to be sent an invoice before picking up the beef, but they failed to provide one.
This would have all been fine, however, if the meat had been satisfactory… But we first discovered that all the ground beef was terrible, worst we ever had! It was riddled with huge chunks of gristle and sinew, thick silverskin, some chunks up to 1cm in size. I even tried slow cooking it all day in chilli and we were still pulling out the large chewy bits. We even found tiny bone fragments too, which was very off-putting, not to mention slightly unsafe, would we start finding larger or sharper pieces of bone? What if our kids ate one?
Some of the steak packs we had tried were also cut very sloppily and uneven and have all turned out very tough. The labelling of the meat was also strange, sloppy and hard to read. Some packs were not labelled at all…
We got in touch with them many times, sending photos and asking questions, a lot of which was ignored.
They refused to disclose to us exactly who/where our animal was processed. They refused to tell us the age of the animal or how long it was hung.
They vehemently defended their butcher, blamed my cooking and essentially just gaslit us and became nasty to deal with. Told us we were the “1 in 100 people they get every year that cannot be satisfied.”
But we were concerned about the overall safety of our meat given the poor quality (bone shards in ground seem indicative of a very sloppy butcher, did he cut corners processing it?).
Overall we were also just very unhappy given the price we paid for what we were discovering we received.
We have since learned a bit more about the on-farm slaughter licensing, and it seems like, as the purchaser of the animal, we should have been at least made aware of where the meat was to be processed. Also our meat was not legally labelled according to uninspected meat standards, especially since it was delivered to us off farm.
We regret supporting KS Farms when there was so many others that would have better deserved our investment and provided us with a superior product!
