My son has been seeing Maria for the past few months. She is very patient and understanding, especially with a high energy little boy via telehealth appointments! She finds fun ways to keep him engaged while focusing on the task at hand. She is very quick to respond to my questions and sends through tips between sessions. We have seen great progress with our son’s speech, as well as his interest in practicing between sessions, since starting with Maria.

We are so happy to have had Maria for our son's in home speech therapy! She tailored each session to his mood and his interests and had many helpful suggestions and activities for ways to practice on our own. She is patient and kind and our son looked forward to each weekly session...pretty much asking every day if his "teacher" was coming. 🙂 Thanks so much for all of your help!

Ms. Maria was the best Speech-Language teacher my 7 year-old has had. And he has had 2 good ones before. She was calm, patient, professional, and redirected him kindly & firmly. The setting itself had white walls and was not distracting. My son connected with her right away. Ms. Maria listened to what Dylan had to say to her, probably doing Speech-Language assessment & training along way. She answered any questions, shared how he did & explained the sounds he had difficulty with, so we could help him at home. She engaged the whole family and we all liked her very much.She used a variety of tools like the little mirror screen where could see how he formed his letters. She tuned into his competitive nature and used a speech training board game.She was very playful sometimes and made it fun for him. She rewarded him with using the i-pod sometimes as well as a lot of praise. It was obvious Ms. Maria loves children. She is a wonderful Speech-Language teacher and person.
We plan on going back to her next summer.

Maria is an incredibly calm and capable speech therapist and she is especially wonderful with children. She is English/Spanish bi-lingual and her approach combines (gentle) firmness with a skilled professional's understanding of a child's specific needs. I can confidently recommend her services knowing that you and your child will benefit from her help.

It was really reassuring to hear a second opinion from Maria. My original concerns for my 2.5 yo child were originally disregarded by another health care professional so I felt ignored. However, Maria listened to everything I had to say and she carefully input her opinions in warmth without judgement. She’s very patient and understanding.
