MONK Renovations helped us to renovate our kitchen and we absolutely love the result. This was our first big renovation and the staff carefully guided us every step of the way. Everyone at MONK was a pleasure to work with, as were the professionals at Cabinet Central and all of the subcontractors. Their work was top notch and they made the process a great experience. The project was on time and on budget. We would happily work with the MONK team again.

Monk turned my laundry room into an ensuite bathroom and laundry closet. The process was smooth and communication with the team was consistent and clear. Big shout out to Jon, who had an amazing attention to detail, left the site super tidy each day, and was very respectful throughout the entire renovation. So like many in Halifax in july 2023 we suffered a flood in our basement. To say we were frustrated and stressed is an understatement.

The insurance company's approved repair company did a terrible job with the removal and clean up. We definitely did not want then back to do the reno.

We called Monk and Dan and Michael came out to give us a quote. We felt comfortable right away with them because they were honest about what needed to be done and what was realistic to expect. Other companies said sure we can do it for what the insurance company is giving you but i knew that wasn't possible. So we went with our gut and decided to use Monk. And it was one of the decisions we have ever made. To say we are happy with the results is an understatement.

They guessed 4-5 weeks and it was done in 4. The finished look is beyond our expectations. The onsite foreman Daryl was AMAZING!

We are planning a kitchen remodel. And our decision on who to use is already decided. It will be Monk Renovations.

The biggest part for us aside from the amazing workmanship and finished look is that they took 2 extremely stressed individuals over what was already an almost 9 month ordeal. And put us at ease, with thier professionalism and personal and friendly interactions.

I can assure anyone that chooses Monk you are making the right decision.

Initially when I was calling around for quotes I was just looking to have minor renovations done to my house. Monk Renovations was the only company that was willing to take on a small project (every other company I contacted said I needed to be doing a minimum of a $50k renovation for it to be worth their time). I arranged for them to come and give me a quote, however while I was waiting I decided I might as well go all out and just completely redo my house.

From the first contact with Dan I was incredibly impressed with how friendly he was through email and over the phone. He scheduled a time to come and meet with me, and made a wonderful first impression when he and Rob (project manager) showed up on time! (They were actually early but walked up together exactly on time). After dealing with numerous no shows and rescheduling with other companies this already bumped them up to my #1 choice. They listened to what we wanted and made up a very detailed quote. It was definitely like a breath of fresh air dealing with them, there was no pressure from them for us to hire them (as I was getting from other companies), and their pricing was very reasonable.

The day they were scheduled to start the whole crew was there at 8am on the dot and ready to begin! I was very nervous to have a bunch of strangers in my house while I wasn't there, but I was immediately put at ease with this crew. Rob was wonderful to deal with and the head carpenter Brandon was just amazing! Brandon does excellent work, and is just so easy to interact with. Rolando and Dana were here as well and they were all so friendly and efficient I really couldn't have asked for a better team. Brandon would even bring timbits for my dogs and won them over too! I can not stress how much we appreciated Brandon, any little issue he would handle even when it was not something that was his job he was always able to help. His attention to detail was amazing and you really can see the pride he takes in his work!

They ended up completely gutting the main level of my house, tore down walls to change the layout, added a patio door, new windows, completely new kitchen, everything was redone. They also gutted and changed the layout of my upstairs bathroom. They finished everything in the time span they said they would, we had no surprise extra costs or hidden fees. We could not have asked for a better experience, and when the time comes for more renovations we will 100% be using Monk Renovations again!

Right from the very start, when the quote was done through to the clean up at the end of the project we were completely satisfied. The project actually got started earlier than planned and was completed on schedule. The trades people were all highly professional and treated our home like it was their own.
