Planning a wedding is no small feat. Planning a wedding in a different country? That’s a whole other level of challenge. But thanks to Mountainscape Weddings and the absolute magic-makers that are Katie, Lara and the whole team at Mountainscape, our big day came together more perfectly than we ever could have imagined.

From day one, Katie and Lara were total rockstars! We bombarded them with ideas—some polished, some half-baked, and a few that were clearly born from a late-night Pinterest spiral, fueled by dirty martinis and delusion (Looking at you, murder mystery rehearsal dinner)!! They took it all in stride with endless creativity, grace, and laser-sharp vision. Somehow, they transformed our chaos into something cohesive, elegant, and uniquely “us”.

One of the biggest gifts of working with them was how easy they made it all feel—especially while we were planning from the U.S. for a wedding to take place in Banff, Alberta, Canada. If there were logistical nightmares lurking behind the scenes, we never saw them. They were the calm in our cross-border storm! They met with us regularly (Zoom MVPs!), gave us clear milestones to hit for making decisions, and were always available to answer questions—no matter how random or last-minute. Their responsiveness alone deserves an award… and I’m convinced they’ve unlocked the secret to teleportation or time-stretching, because they were everywhere and everything, all at once!!

Let’s talk vendors. Chef’s kiss! Every single one Katie and Lara recommended was incredible—talented, friendly, professional, and clearly part of the Mountainscape magic circle. You can tell these folks don’t just throw names at you—they genuinely connect you with people who care about your day just as much as they do.

Now… confession time: I may have moonlighted as a full-blown Groomzilla at points during this journey. I had strong opinions about everything from floral palettes to—yes—napkin rings. (Don’t judge me, they matter.) And yet, Katie and Lara handled my DIVA moments with such finesse you’d think it was part of the job description. They were patient, understanding, and quite brilliant at gently guiding us… me back to sanity with a smile and a great sense of humor!

When the big day came, everything was perfect!! The setup, the flow, the vibe, the details—every single element reflected our vision, our values, and our style. Not only did everything look stunning, it felt right! We were calm, fully present, and able to soak it all in because we trusted Katie completely. You know that cliché about how you won’t remember your wedding day? Yeah, total nonsense. We remember every incredible moment—and a big part of that is thanks to Katie’s calming presence and behind-the-scenes wizardry.

We are so incredibly grateful to have had Mountainscape Weddings by our side for the most important day of our lives. Katie and Lara, and all the other magic maker behind the scenes, thank you for making the impossible feel effortless, for keeping us sane (Groomzilla and all), and for giving us the wedding of our dreams. You are truly one-in-a-million humans.

Words cannot express enough how professional, visionary and turnkey Mountainscape Weddings made my wife and I’s big day a few weeks ago. At first we were a bit reluctant on whether or not to invest additional money on a wedding coordinator given some of the stories we heard from family members and friends around their planners exerting excess pressure and being made to feel
that they should have all the answers pertaining to their wedding day under the assumption that every bride fit the model of having the layout of their wedding pinned down since they were a 6 year old girl. However from the first meeting we had with Lara & Katie, it was apparent they were nothing like that and that their energies were calming as we grew rapport and clicked. They were not pushy at all nor tried to sell us on anything, rather they expressed an air of curiosity, reassurance, excitement and above all else dedication towards serving us by asking us thoughtful questions that unveiled what was most important from what we wanted from our wedding. Over the span of the year or so that we worked together, bit by bit our vision began to take shape and Lara was always so proactive in communicating when and where we needed to as well as greatly taking ownership of dealing with vendors, getting quotes and lessening the load for us for things we didn’t need to be as hands in for. And as far as the execution went the day…You can see from our
Photos that it was absolutely stunning. We were speechless when we saw the finished product of the outdoor ceremony as well as reception space which took place at the Fairmont Banff Springs. What’s more is that she made every effort along with her colleague designer Naomi to propose options that stayed within budget, repurposed items, allowed us to bring in personal items to which they took owness of setting up ALL while Lara kept us on schedule and thought of every intricate detail during the day of timeline that truly allowed for it to be 1 - A day where we got to celebrate and thoroughly enjoy each moment together knowing that it was to pass quickly and 2 - Created a lasting experience for all of our guests. Their standard is truly one of a kind so I cannot recommend enough you selecting them as we did as they truly have a passion for creating stunning spaces and treating every couple with the utmost respect, calming presence and individualized care. Mountainscape weddings helped us plan our dream destination wedding in Banff, Canada and they were amazing!! It’s hard enough to plan a wedding from a different country, but the mountainscape team made it effortless!! They were so organized and knowledgeable that I completely trusted their advice and suggestions with all vendors. They were completely supportive and comforting when I was stressed or changed my mind about anything! Financially, they helped us keep track of what we were spending and were straight forward about all the costs, I never felt like they hid any extra costs from us (which is super important when your trying to budget for a wedding lol).

Katie, truly made sure my vision came to life with the decor and flowers (I was the most stressed about this) BUT my goodness did the decor and flowers truly exceed my expectations!! It was quite literally perfect.

A special shout out to the wonderful person that is LARA! She truly is an amazing person to work with when you are planning a wedding. She’s calm, organized, honest and so kind! Every detail was perfect and every one of our guests was so happy & huge reason for that is because of Lara! My parents and in-laws loved her & multiple guests commented on how amazing my wedding planner did!!

I have zero regrets or complaints about my wedding day which I feel like is rare for most brides, but mountainscape truly planned the MOST PERFECT DAY! I can’t say enough great things about this company!! If you need someone to plan your wedding CHOOSE THEM. YOU WONT REGRET IT. I attached some pictures for reference! <3

We hired MountainScape for both our wedding and event planning in August 2019. Katie Craig, our wedding planner, was the absolute best! She was friendly, professional and extremely helpful. I should mention we did everything by email and phone as my fiance and I are from Edmonton and MountainScape is in Banff. We never did formally meet until the wedding day and even my caterer had thought we were friends prior to the wedding as Katie is just that easy to work and get along with. She organized all the vendors a month ahead, contacted each to determine timelines and set up, and formalized a minute by minute spreadsheet of the days events. She took all our stress away which would have been to the extreme if it were not for her.
We had a beautiful private ranch venue in Invermere B.C. (a destination for everyone involved) that had no amenities except a bar, some out-houses, and no running water. The MountainScape Team (MST) handled everything, from the organization of the reception, the cocktail hour and the ceremony. They provided and sourced out all the decor we would need from napkins, gold cutlery, wine goblets, to beautiful lighting and magnificent chandeliers with greenery draped along them. They did a site tour for us months prior to the wedding day and presented us with all the details we would have never thought of but would have been large issues if not addressed. They transformed the barn and other spots on the ranch property into the most magical place. I also had my florals done through them, they took my Pinterest ideas and delivered exactly what I had dreamed of. Many people asked me where I had got my florals from as they we so stunning.
Katie, Georgia, and Naomi delivered everything to make our day perfect. Everyone said something would go wrong and with this team nothing went wrong. I cant say enough good things about them and would recommend them to everyone I know. They made the whole process for my Fiance and I effortless with their professionalism and wedding/event experience. When we first started looking for a planner I had put requests to other wedding/event planners and got simple short paragraphs outlining very little services with a large price. When I contacted MountainScape I got a two page email regarding everything they could do for us along with pricing, it was a no-brainer for us to choose them. I am forever grateful to the MST for pulling off the most amazing day for us.

Two words: hire them.

I am so grateful that we did. We went with the Month-Of Wedding Coordination plus Decor & Design and the whole process was made effortless by their incredible team. Team is the key word here, no matter the time of day or time of year, someone responded to our questions, concerns and requests. We were so well taken care of. On the day of our wedding, I was so pleased with the floral and decor which was even better than what I was hoping for. Naomi (Creative Director) was so patient with my (changing) decor vision and did a fantastic job bringing it all to life. I'm so happy that I took her suggestions as well - they know what they're talking about!! Katie (planner) was a godsend. She was bascially a second MOH. Making sure everything went flawlessly and taking care of me even when I didn't know I needed it. I am so grateful for her and her entire crew. It makes me emotional thinking about how perfect our day was, which was, in big part, because of her.

We got married at the Banff Springs in mid November 2024 with Mountainscape and it was a dream. Katie was our lead planner and she made the lead up and day-of seamless, making sure all our vendors were on the same page and ready to go. Everyone including her brought such good energy, it’s clear she has great relationships with those in the industry across Banff which can really help out when you need it. She is an expert at anticipating your needs and helping you just focus on what’s important on the wedding day instead of any logistics.
