What a great time on the water - we were treated to a very interesting demonstration of lobster and crabbing. Tried our hand at fishing and bar clamming. Had a fantastic cookup of the mackerel and clams we caught. Captain Derek and first mate Terry were fantastic hosts and I would recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a fun activity while on the Island.

Captain Darren and his children were our tour guides for an awesome adventure which ended up being the group favourite activity of our week of exploring the cultural and history of life on the island. Our day was rescheduled due to weather conditions, but was well worth the wait! We were a group of 13 Scouts from Ontario, the excitement and stories of the adventure was shared for hours afterward. Thank you captain Darren for the awesome memories.

By far our favourite day on the island. Conditions, weather and the crew was amazing. They are fishermen by trade and do these tours in the off season so you get authentic stories and experiences. The clam digging was frustrating at first but once you know what to look for, it is so much fun! One guy on the tour found 4 bags worth of clams! The bbq on board was excellent and perfect amount of food for everyone.

We had a wonderfull trip and a great experience.
Captain Darren and his first mate are very friendly and also great with kids.
We catched quite some mackerel, saw seals and captain Darren pulled up a lobster trap and explained how lobster catching works.
The captain filleted the mackerels right after we were done fishing and seasoned them. Afterwards that we went snorkeling, in lovely warmed up ocean due to a heat wave, (saw baby lobsters on the bottom and some hermite crabs) and "harvested" clams with a rake. Back on board captain Darren fired up his weber bbq and putted the mackerel on it, they came out so good, also he made some hotdogs and he cooked our freshly harvested clams.

This trip was a highlight of our time in PEI. Donning a wetsuit, snorkle and mask to dig for giant clams was a fun challenge. Cooking and eating them on board made all the effort worthwhile! This was followed by fishing for mackerel, which was also a thrill. The tastiest fish are the ones you catch yourself! Huge thanks for a wonderful island adventure!

We signed up for an excursion with Paradise On The Sea based on strong recommendations from friends and rave reviews online. We booked our trip on their website, paid a deposit, got a confirmation. The morning of our trip we got a phone call at 8am that our 10am trip was cancelled because the owner took 'a telephone booking for a party of ten' before he could take it off his website. 'This has never happened before in ten years.' Obviously a huge disappointment to the kids; a huge hassle to us to try to rebook on another day or with another operator.

We called back to try to reschedule the trip and that time get told 'this has happened several times this summer' and get directed to book online again. Ask whether they can tell us we won't get bumped again or make up for the last minute cancellation with a discount or anything and get told, 'No, we won't have any problem filling that trip.'

Rude, unprofessional, possibly dishonest - my suspicion is that we were blown off for a party that filled more seats on the boat or for a better-paying fishing charter.

Find another company!
We booked in Feb and were really looking forward to our trip. As we were driving to PEI we received a phone call from the owner asking is we could move our Trip from Thursday morning to Tue afternoon. He cited weather concerns. Sure, we can juggle things as we really wanted to do this. A few hours later, he phoned back saying the two other parties cancelled so he was moving us back to Thursday. (Warning bell went off as we were told we were moved due to weather, however it appears it’s for group size. Ok, I can understand the need for the trip to be profitable for him. ). Wednesday I messaged the owner asking if we were still on for Thursday morning, received a text that weather might be an issue so try at 2pm. Ok, we were scheduled for 10am but sure, we can make this work. Asked where to meet and was told he’d let us know if we were going on Thursday due to wind conditions. Then set me a weather report, interestingly enough the weather statement showed the highest waves and strongest winds at the time we were to go. Started to suspect we weren’t going as there were not enough people. Wouldn’t of been an issue if the owner had been truthful and honest. Thur received notification that we weren’t going, could we possibly go Friday. Friday was our day to leave the island, we could delay and reschedule some things, wanted to go as we were really looking forward so made some calls and readjusted our schedule for the 4 day ina row. Asked the owner to confirm later that night that we were a go....received a very snarky message “ I assumed you were ago for Friday...I can try and hold your spots however if someone calls I will sell your spots! .... ummm excuse me?! I have been nothing but accommodating and have put a deposit down in Feb and now you threaten to give away our spots after he had been dishonest about why he couldn’t take us!!! The owner then fired back that it’s been the worst week in 8 years for scheduling (not my problem) and did we want the spots. No offer of apology for all the issues, no offer of any discount, no nothing. We decided to cancel and asked for a deposit to be returned. The lies, the feeling that we were being manipulated, I decided that this company did not deserve the money they would receive for 4 people. I had to ask repeatedly for the deposit to be returned, time will tell. This tour group is not worth the hassle, find another company, don’t bother here!
