Suite au feu qui a ravagé ma maison, l’assurance m’a présenté deux entreprises. J’ai dû choisir Paul Davis car leurs délais étaient les plus courts, et effectivement, ils ont été très rapides. Il y a eu des aménagements pratiques, mais il reste 2 ou 3 finitions que je n’aime pas. Il me manque aussi deux portes pour les armoires de la cuisine.

Je doute qu’ils reviennent les installer, car la raison qu’ils m’ont donnée pour ce manquement ne me semble pas crédible. Ayant déjà travaillé dans une usine de fabrication de portes d’armoires, je sais qu’une machine cassée se répare généralement en une journée, ou deux au maximum s’il faut changer une pièce. Or, cela fait maintenant presque trois mois….....

We recently bought a home in McAllister Park that included a basement suite for my husband’s mother. Just two weeks after moving in, we experienced a sewage backup in the basement—right where my mother-in-law lives. It was an incredibly stressful situation, made even more complicated when our insurance provider initially assigned a national restoration company to the file.

We had no issues with WINMAR, but we were hoping to support a locally established company who understands the community and provides that extra personal touch. As it turned out, three separate people recommended Paul Davis Restoration, and we quickly realized that an old high school acquaintance, Ryan Dawson, was a Project Manager there.

Ryan was a game-changer.

He helped us navigate the process of switching from the national provider to Paul Davis, advocating on our behalf with the insurance company. He was on-site daily during the emergency work, ensuring everything was done quickly and properly, and continued to visit weekly throughout the rebuild phase.

Because the basement suite isn’t technically a rental (we don’t charge my mother-in-law rent), her insurance wouldn’t cover temporary accommodations. Ryan was incredibly mindful of that, doing everything possible to avoid prolonging her displacement and to minimize the impact on our family.

Even more impressive—he worked with us on a few small upgrades we’d hoped to make to improve her space, ensuring nothing exceeded budget while helping turn a stressful ordeal into a surprisingly positive experience.
