Sadly this needs to be said. I generally never write bad reviews for companies but this time I believe it’s needed. I won’t go into detail about my experience but if you read Matthew’s review from 11 months ago he nails it. All I’ll say is that they now have a lack of empathy, support and just general knowledge. They didn’t even know what services we had on the website that they built for us, and charged us an obscene amount of money every time we needed anything, even basic things. Admittedly, like Matthew there were red flags, but we, like him ignored them. And it was costly.

This once great company (pixel army) which has now been acquired by Netlynx, is no longer the company we originally were happy to pay $20,000 cad for a custom website back in 2017.

At that time I actually gave the company a 5 star review myself. Unfortunately today I need to change that.

In our experience, which was great pre acquisition, has been an absolute nightmare since the Netlynx acquisition. They went from a high level customer service company to a company that seems to only care about money.

You will see a lot of great reviews for this company in the past, but let me assure you this is no longer who they are. Matthew’s review is spot on and I would also recommend the same, if you are look for a company to build and host your site I would proceed with extreme caution.

Pixel Army did an outstanding job with the redesign of our website for Fox Hollow Golf Course. The team, led by account manager Savanna, was incredibly communicative and thorough throughout the entire process. Savanna was always available to answer any questions we had and the designers were very responsive to our feedback. The turnaround time for corrections was always prompt and the final product exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be happier with the website and highly recommend Pixel Army for any web design projects.

Our journey with Pixel Army, now under the ownership of Netlynx, was nothing short of a nightmare, a stark departure from the reputable company we were led to believe we'd be partnering with. This review is a candid recount of our profoundly disappointing experience, shared to forewarn potential clients.

To those considering Pixel Army for their web design needs, proceed with caution. The company we engaged with bears little resemblance to its former self, pre-acquisition. This is not the bitter ranting of a disgruntled client but a sober warning: Pixel Army, as it stands today, is a shadow of its former self, ensnared in disorganization and unprofessionalism that we wouldn't wish upon anyone.

Our initial interactions, characterized by enthusiasm from a sales call with Savanna, quickly devolved into a series of red flags we regrettably ignored. Obtaining a quote and contract from Pixel Army was marred by unexplained delays and lack of communication over many weeks.

Then, upon engaging services worth nearly $20,000 CAD, our excitement and motivation was met with complete silence. Promises of a kick-off meeting and onboarding questionnaire evaporated, leaving us chasing shadows for weeks on end. We were not contacted or provided with any on-boarding material or communication for several weeks.

The so-called "Integrated Marketing Communications" document, for which we were charged $5,000, was revealed to be nothing more than AI-generated text, replete with generic introductions unmistakably from ChatGPT. The IMC Document was sent to us in Google Drive, but the authors forgot to leave off the internal commenting on the file, further opening our eyes to no work actually having been done on this.

We were shown "creative concepts" that were hastily assembled from stock imagery and asked to essentially self-direct the design of our website. This request not only contradicted the premise of hiring a professional design firm but also left us questioning the competence and integrity of Pixel Army's team.

Half a year into our agreement, direct communication with a designer—an ostensibly basic expectation—has still not happened. We've been ghosted on multiple occasions. Don't let this happen to you. I'm sure that there are more adept and keen design firms to choose from in Edmonton, this is not the one to choose, anymore.

Our company has been steadily growing over the last decade and it was time for a digital face lift. Pixel Army executed our vision with surgical precision and finesse and the results were beyond our expectations. Pixel Army is a company that has redefined our ideas of what web development and customer care can be, and we are excited to have them with us on our journey.
