One of the slowest hospitals ever. The check in system doesn't make sense. You have to wait in a chair until the nurse comes to get you. Nurse checks you out. You have to give the registration papers to the front desk. Front desk asks for more information. Then you have to grab the papers from front desk and bring it to the nurses in back. Tell me how this all makes sense? You have to wait for 6-7 hours. The reception is telling people to wait at the triage seats to get registered but when a white guy comes in she takes does his papter work and brings it in back. This is a very weird and strange hospital. Something definitely off about how things are done here. Not to mention the hospital is small. When you go back to the nursing station they are just chatting and sitting.

I was recently in the Emergency Department and had a great experience, as far as er visits go. Over the past decades I have been in the er’s down south more times than I can remember (some years up to 12 x’s). What the er here was able to do in 4-5 hours takes 12-18+ hrs on Southern Vancouver Island (multiple hospitals). I am grateful that the er in my new town has such an efficient emergency room. The waiting room was full when I arrived and when I left they had triaged, taken care of and discharged most of those ahead of me. I was not the last one from waiting room to go in but I was the last of those waiting to leave the treatment area. Given all the staffing shortages the staff is doing a good job! Thank you to the staff and Dr. McKeen.

This is our second time going to northern health Prince Rupert. Both time we got an extremely frustrating experience at this hospital. I was told the wait time would be 4 hours, so I asked if it was possible to come back later. They told me no. After 5 hours of waiting, they finally called us inside, only for us to wait an additional 2 hours without anyone even checking on us. One of the attendants was incredibly rude, adding to the already terrible experience. In the end, we left the hospital without any checkup. The entire process was unprofessional and disappointing. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone.

One of the worst experience in this hospital in entire northern health facility.we went there last week.they let us to sit in triage and wait for the nurses to assess and they register after assessing which took 2hours.then nurses told us wait in registration area which took extra 4hours.In total,6 to 7 hours wait until see the doctor.

I misunderstood the situation, I chose to give them better stars.. they were right about what I was going through after a little personal investigation. They are kind with their interactions, I would like to apologize for my previous bad review. This hospital does have its benefits on care!
