Thank you Rusch team for partnering with us and refreshing our home. The design and colour selection process was efficient, fun, and complete with drawings and renderings. Project Manager Brad is very experienced and was transparent, proactive, responsive, and genuine. He also managed any changes quickly and properly. The Rusch staff carpenters were prompt, clean, and very respectful. Same goes for their preferred subcontractors who were also prompt, clean, and respectful. The whole team was on a first name basis with us (and our neighbours). We strongly recommend giving Oliver and Tawnya a shot at any project. Their projects can be seen on their videos.

ARK (Accessibility for Kids) Society is a charity that eases the daily life of children with mobility challenges by providing zero-cost modifications and renovations to their family home. Rusch Design Build partnered with ARK to build a specialty bathroom that allows the mom and daughter to shower together as the daughter has multiple seizures per day and it is unsafe for her to shower alone. Rusch designed and constructed the bathroom at less than 50% of retail cost. The end product is beautiful and the family is so thankful to have this renovation to make life easier for them. We worked with Rusch Design to do an entire main floor remodel to our home. The remodel included everything from an entirely new and remodeled kitchen and entryway, new flooring, knock down ceilings, windows & structural changes, addition of pot lights in every room, new electrical panel and painting. Deciding to do a major home renovation is one of the biggest financial and sometimes emotional decisions that we have to make. Choosing a contractor that you can trust and who shares in your vision is critical. After interviewing 4 or 5 different firms, we met with Oliver & Tawyna of Rusch Design and right away we knew that they were a step above everyone else.

We really liked that Rusch acted as a turnkey contractor and were able to handle everything from design, procurement and construction.

The end product exceeded our expectations. We couldn't be happier.

- Excellent communication. Calls and emails were always answered promptly. Brad our construction manager was on location multiple times a week and if there was ever a concern or questions it was often addressed in person.
- Excellent change management. Anything that deviated from the original contract was addressed with a detailed change order which outlined costs and any potential schedule impacts.
- The work site was kept clean which was especially important as we were living through the renovation.

Rusch Design managed our extensive (primarily exterior) renovations on our heritage home. They had been recommended to us by City heritage planners and were very adept on the project. It was a really protracted job, mostly because of material shortages triggered by the pandemic DIY boom. At the end of the project, we received many compliments on the revitalized exterior cedar siding and roofing, and new windows, all of which are not only beautiful, but have significantly improved insulation and air gaps in our 1912 vintage house.
Phillip Rusch, the founder, had built a strong group of craftsmen to work on the interior, where we recreated the (long ago damaged and removed) header mouldings from the one remaining original. The result was stunning, although delayed by the closing of the main supplier of one of the components in Calgary. They persevered and the result does credit to the vintage structure. Phillip is very hands on and was over immediately in the case of crisis, such as a door that wouldn’t lock or the results of an ice dam.
Various extensions of the project occurred, both with the casings and new patio doors (the old ones failed during the construction period). As such, coming to a defined end and sign-off was a little difficult, although we finally got there. Phillip’s integrity and commitment to his clients is impressive and we would definitely recommend him, particularly on heritage projects.

We hired Rusch Design Build to complete our bungalow renovation. One of the reasons we chose them was because they offered an in house designer that supported our project from the beginning stages to the end. This was a service that was not offered by other companies and for us was invaluable.

We moved to Calgary last summer after purchasing a townhome in a great area, but in need of renovation.

Attending the Fall Home show, we met Oliver and Tawnya of Rusch Design Build. As we had no knowledge of contractors/designers in Calgary, one of the big selling points for us was discovering Rusch could do everything from design to construction. In addition, we were impressed with the close working relationship Rusch has with their trades contractors.

Rusch Design Build were very professional to deal with. As we had chosen to renovate the entire main floor of the townhome (kitchen, bathrooms, mud room/laundry, flooring, electrical, ceilings etc.), Tawnya and Oliver worked with us through every step of the design process. They were instrumental in coaching us though the many decisions that had to be made. During construction, we found Rusch’s own in-house workers and Rusch’s tradespeople to be great to work with. Phillip was also an enormous help with his great eye for detail and helpful suggestions.

We are incredibly pleased with the completed project. The new luxurious ensuite and beautiful kitchen are highlights.
