Hidden gem alert: If you’re in Hinton and haven’t experienced Kailey’s magic at Salt, you’re seriously missing out. I walked into her treatment room—a cozy little sanctuary at the back of Salt that feels like stepping into another world—and immediately felt like I’d entered a 5-star resort. Dim salt lamp lighting, a fuzzy blanket, tea with a crystal… Kailey sets the vibe and delivers the goods.

I came to her feeling completely defeated about my skin. Thanks to some recent life trauma, my face decided to time-travel back to my teenage years with the worst breakouts ever. Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to cover it. I’d heard great things about Kailey, so I booked a chemical peel (because years ago, one worked wonders for me) and crossed my fingers. Let me tell you, she absolutely over-delivered.

The entire experience was next level—relaxing, grounding, and deeply intentional. She’s so knowledgeable about skin and post-treatment care that I walked out not only glowing but armed with a plan to get my skin back on track. Two peels and a few weeks later, my breakouts are practically gone, and even my stubborn 11 lines? Vanished. I’m convinced Kailey is some kind of skincare wizard.

If you’re in Hinton, run—don’t walk—to book with her. She’s a total gem in this little mountain town!

I came all the way from Montreal to get my hair done by my daughter’s hairstylist Frode and it did NOT disappoint! I was served a lovely tea, got a massage, the best hair wash ever and a beautiful haircut! 5 stars experience and the best by far, thank you Frode for your kindness and beautiful spirit!

I’ve never had an experience at a hair salon like I had at Salt.; I’ve never felt so welcome, respected, and relaxed.
After 4 and a half months spent in Manitoba without dyeing my hair (for multiple reasons including budgeting and not being able to find a salon I felt confident in) I moved to Jasper for seasonal work and booked an appointment with Salt. My roots were grown out, my hair was faded and dry, and I was overall itching to get it redone.
What I didn’t expect when I booked with Salt was to receive a holistic experience that not only tended to my hair, but my heart and soul as well.
Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted by Frode, the owner. She made me feel welcome and comfortable right away. She made me tea that is made locally and is very comforting, she gave me not one but two really lovely and relaxing scalp massages, and instead of having magazines laying around that promote unrealistic body ideals, she brought me a few sweet and gentle poetry books to read while I let the dye sit.
The conversations I shared with Frode felt real and meaningful, and it’s easy to see how much her her business means to her; she really values her clients and she really knows what she’s doing when it comes to hair. She was fully transparent when it came to my hair, she explained things really well and we ended up deciding to change the colour of my hair slightly to compliment me more. I left the salon saying I have never loved my hair more. To top it all off, I found the price very good given how happy I was with my hair and the overall experience.
As someone who was living in Jasper and is now an evacuee two provinces away, I am so sad I am unable to have another appointment at Salt for the time being. The prospect of finding another salon feels like a chore, since the chances of having a similar experience to what I had at Salt are not likely. I really can’t wait to return to Salt and feel so pampered again.

Kayla Jane O'How was mine and my husband Gary stylist but the last time we were in we both were terribly disappointed in our cuts, mine was one of the worst cuts I've ever had!!
She was to preoccupied with her new Pug.
I am and have always truly been an animal lover but not when it's running around in a business that requires attention to detail while the employee is working!
Sorry Kayla but that's why I haven't been back.
