We would certainly recommend Scott! Our journey to our new home started with a curious “well let’s just take a look” when we spotted a listing that checked a lot of our boxes as a family. With unique accessibility issues we thought we were going to need to build so had not yet listed our own home. To say we weren’t ready to buy is an understatement! Scott was flexible to meet with us a number of times and coordinated communication about the modifications we would need to make. He supported us as we put in an offer and got our house listed quickly. His guidance and guide book helped us to prioritize what mattered most and in less than two weeks our house was sold!! It was great to have an agent who really heard what we needed and followed up to make sure we had the information necessary to make timely decisions. We are loving our new home and are grateful to Scott for supporting both this purchase and the sale of a home we loved for 16 years. Scott Dopko was our agent for the purchase of our new house in Lloyd. Our first meeting was a bit of a surprise for Scott as we were from Calgary and contacted him at random to see a house we were interested in. That house had a pending offer but he took us to see similar houses. He seemed to immediately sense what we were looking for and validated that with intelligent questions and obviously listened to what we had to say. Five houses later we were putting in an offer. We didn't have much time when we were in town. We were also dealing with a family emergency. Scott was able to get us into view houses on short notice during the time we were available without any hassles. Scott walked us through all the process and made us comfortable at every step. He was available when we needed to communicate, clear, open and reliable.
Before we arrived at our initial walk through Scott checked out the house. He was not satisfied with the cleanliness of some of the house so arranged (with the other agent) for a cleaner to come in before we arrived in town. The house was indeed clean when we did our initial walk through.
Further he identified a problem with the fence prior to the actual change of ownership and flagged it early enough for us to get it dealt with before we took ownership. We're still waiting for the fence to get fixed but we have everything place and just waiting for contractor availability. Without Scott's pre-work we could have been in a mess and possibly been out of pocket for the additional expense without warning. Scott followed up to see what the status of the fence was and ensured that we were comfortable with the house after we'd been here for a few days/week.
Both my wife and I appreciate all that Scott and his associates have done for us. We're well moved in now and very happy.
People say that buying a house is one of life's biggest 'change' moments. It surely is for us as we've moved from Calgary to a town we're not 100% familiar with. Scott made it easy and looked after us. Without him this could have been a much less pleasant experience. Thanks Scott and team!!
