The Free Store at the Seventh Day Adventist Church has gone completely down hill over the last few months. 😞 Some of the ladies operating the free store are ignorant, rude, snobby, patronizing, condescending, and down right inconsiderate. I overheard them talking poorly about a group of unhoused people after they left! They clearly came in to find some warm clothing for cooling temperatures, and were treated poorly by Katie and then gossiped about after they left. I have also witnessed firsthand and heard from others about how she acts racist towards Aboriginal customers. It is quite visible that Katie enjoys sitting around and treating the vulnerable customers in our community like they are a burden. Katie is simply an unaccomplished, inefficient, intolerant, unethical, incompetent, unsuitable candidate for this volunteer position.

My last visit to the Free Store I left feeling terrible, I felt saddened by the way the unhoused people were treated, and I felt sorry for Katie for she must have zero self confidence, and low self esteem in order for her to be able to treat vulnerable people this way.

I will not return to the Free Store as long as I know Katie still volunteers there. I do hope that whomever is in charge of this organization has a good, long, hard talk with the volunteers about how to treat others with respect and dignity. I hope that these concerns are dealt with in a timely fashion, and that moving forward the community members can access this great community outreach service with confidence they will not be berated and made to feel bad about themselves for the unfortunate situations they are experiencing.

Beyond horrid customer service! What an absolute disgrace. I will never return to the Wednesday centre. Katie is one of the most arrogant and unkind women I have had the displeasure of meeting. The people of this community donate clothing and household items so that others that are down and out can attend the centre and find items they may be in need of. Katie made not only myself but other patrons feel absolutely uncomfortable. I just cannot believe how myself and others were treated by her.
