I dropped off some donations at Sirch yesterday and was very happy I decided to go in and see if there was anything I could use. Yes indeedy. I have a nautical wall hanging that used to have a clock in the center but it died, done. I took it apart and decided to put a mermaid in there instead. I found a small legless doll there that I went yes over because I figured it would be perfect to make into a mermaid. I think it looks ok now. I also went there a month ago looking for dolls that I could use in my Alice in Wonderland sculpture. Again, went yes went I spotted just what I needed. The caterpillar I used a dolls head then formed the body out of a strip of foam. Alice was from a really old doll that was from the 80's and again I think they turned out ok. Her dress material was from a top I got there. Some of the paper, bits n' bobs used in the sculpture I got there too. What looks like just junk or really ratty castoffs can become a work of art or something useful.

Although I appreciate the things they do within the community. The prices in the store are crazy expensive. Especially for donated used items. For example:
$50 suitcase, $10- $25 plush stuffies, $50 wood slabs, $60-100 old couches.
It's difficult watching items being donated as your there getting placed on the shelves with such high price

Stop in and try one of their sourdough breads. All are fantastically flavourful!
I tried jalapeno/cheddar as well as rosemary/olive.
I can't stop raving about this bakery! Haliburton is so fortunate to have this gem right downtown.

Their wonderful cooks make the best chicken noodle soup I ever had. You can buy some frozen to enjoy at home.

The Sirch craft store was there but we enjoyed a lunch prepared by new chef trainees. This is a local community project open Wednesday to Saturday for lunch and a bakery on Saturday.
