We’ve been extremely disappointed with our experience with Stevenson Homes. From the start, communication has been poor, and any concerns we raised were met with little urgency, respect and accountability.

Some of the major issues we've faced:

- Poor workmanship across the board — it feels like they hire whatever trades they can find with no regard for quality.

- A cracked tub on move in that was “fixed” but still isn’t right and is discoloured in the area they filled it in.

- Basement Plumbing is an absolute mess and we have now had THREE tradesman tell us to go back to the builder to get it fixed (no luck with that of course, despite phone calls and emails)

- A cracked ceiling above our shower that remains unfixed despite repeated follow-ups.

- Landscaping that took *six months* to be completed after moving in.

We expected better quality and professionalism, but instead, we've had to chase them down constantly with little to no resolution. You don’t get the benefits you’d expect from a new build when buying directly from them, and sadly, we’ve had more headaches than anything.

There are plenty of other reputable builders in the community — I’d STRONGLY suggest exploring those options instead

It’s honestly hard to understand how this builder is still in business. From the start, our experience has been marked by poor communication, a lack of professionalism, and an overall disregard for the customer. With the way they operate, it feels like customer satisfaction is the last thing on their list — if it’s on there at all.

Communication is nearly nonexistent, and when we do hear back, it’s dismissive or delayed. We’ve been met with disrespect and a total lack of accountability.

Building a home should be exciting — this company made it stressful and frustrating. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

We were excited to build our own home, spent thousands of dollars and the quality is just not there with Stevenson homes. We’ve had our place for 5 years now and we are still running into issues from how it was built. Everything just keeps falling apart. It’s so frustrating and expensive. This is the latest fail in our home. The sink literally just fell, it was only glued in with PL100 and some cardboard was shoved into the corners. We don’t know how it’s lasted as long as it has.
Short form list of what we’ve had to fix thus far:
-heating and vents
-windows that were not installed properly
-floor that is shifting
-plumbing
-re-painting as the painters used the same colors but with different finishes, some eggshell some matte
-electrical
The first year it was like pulling teeth just to get them to come and do the basic repairs. It’s sad.

I have built several homes and Lyle and his team have been incredible to deal with. Stevenson Homes accommodated me every step of the way and their quality of work is outstanding. They have been available 24/7 and have made the process of building a house seem easy. I cannot thank Lyle and his team enough, they have amazing tradesmen who do better work than anything I’ve seen in years! I’ve bought 5 new homes in my life and several used ones. This is by far the worst new home experience that we have ever had. Paid top dollar, got the poorest quality and the most problems trying to get anything finished. Most home builders are worse than used car salesman but this builder has taken it to a whole new level. Don’t waste your time and money with this guy. Nice until you pay the money, then he’s your worst nightmare. Don’t believe me, just ask any of our neighbour's with a Stevenson so called dream home.

Wonderful experience dealing with Lyle and his team of professionals, we could not be happier with the end results, had them totally redo the old existing house and now it is "Brand New", if you are looking for a real Straight Shooter, give Lyle at Stevenson Homes a call, you will be glad you did.
