We signed a 2 year contact with valley fiber. Had a promotion that decreased every couple months. Now pay more than they charge for a new sign up at the full price. They wouldn’t even entertain or offer us a competitive rate to stay. Of course the cancellation fee is $400.
We pay $169 a month where we used to pay $78 a month with bell fibre. Of course bell fibre is not available where we live now so valley fibre can charge what they will and get away with it.

Valley Fiber must have the worst customer support I've ever encountered. I've worked in the IT space for over 10 years. Valley Fiber has constantly been a thorn in my side. We had an outage at the office today. Called in and was told there 'may or may not be an issue', and the only suggestion was to reboot all the equipment (which was done before I called). They refused to check if there was an outage in the area. They refused to even look at their systems and see if there were any issues on their end. They offered absolutely no troubleshooting advice. I told him how useless his help was and hung up. About 10 minutes later things started working again.

Bell/MTS and Rogers/Shaw at least can provide support and provide insight into outages, or if the modem is having issues, etc. If Valley Fiber is worse than Bell and Rogers, you know you have a problem!

As someone who supports several businesses that use Valley Fiber, I'm consistently frustrated by their lack of communication and unprofessional service. Getting a call back or a return voicemail is nearly impossible, which creates significant delays and headaches for the businesses I work with. Their technicians are also less than pleasant and don't seem interested in providing quality support. This makes solving even simple issues a major hassle. The lack of reliable and professional support makes me hesitant to recommend their services to other businesses.

genuinely the worst experience of my life and I don't even have their service hooked up yet.

their salespeople have been bothering us ever since we moved in here. One of them tried to tell me we don't have fibre internet (which we've had through Swift and now Xplornet for four years). Finally one of them came by February of this year and offered me a great deal, telling me they'd come install the line in May 2025. it is now September 2025 and I still don't have Valley Fiber internet service. here's what HAS happened: technicians have showed up in my yard unannounced,on multiple occasions, causing my dog to freak out and damage my furniture. they've been planting marker flags all over our yard all summer, which they then have to come back and plant again and again because nothing's happened. I've been unable to mow my lawn properly or complete projects I needed to build this year. I've signed off on two different construction plans, one of which I didn't even know about because VF's contractor never emailed or called me and when I called VF they had no idea who I was. it took VF 2½ months to install the router because they insisted they could only send someone during the day, when we're at work. and throughout all of this I've received zero communication from VF despite calling and emailing them repeatedly for the past month.

stay far far away from this company.

It did take almost 2 years but there was steady progress from the happy day when we say the Purple and Pink VF stakes in the ditch coming up to our road. There was a lot of contact by phone and email and every step was very professional. The actual service now connected was a very easy set up, immediately available on all devices - hard to believe in an area where we can still only get one bar on our Bell cell service. Stop complaining - these people are working all the time to get internet to us and they are not owed by a raging racist misogynist capitalist.

Internet drops out all the time, spent hours on hold with no one responding. Hold doesn't have any indication of how long you will be waiting. Additionally the speed never hits the advertised rates.

They also showed up at my house, wouldn't leave for 15 minutes while I was taking care of my kid, but offered me quite a discount and service improvement. Then wouldn't honor the deal after when I followed up with them because I'm an existing customer when I told the sales rep that first thing when they came to my door.

Initial setup they didn't install the box in the location I requested, took months to finish the pieces of the install and only showed up after we phoned to remind them.

I'm not sure other options are better, but they are likely not worse. Only reason I don't give 1 star is I got fiber years before alternatives were available.

After waiting 2 years to be hooked up, we finally had a crew show up fall of 2024. I recieved a email saying construction was complete and they were ready to make a appointment to have a installer hook up services in our house. I made the appointment and realized after that my fiberoptic cable was just loosely laid across my lawn. I called them to report that the construction was in fact not complete. They asked for pictures (which i sent) and promised they would have the cables buried befor snow fall.... that didn't happen.
When services were hooked up, I enabled the auto payment option to have my monthly bills taken out on the valley fiber portal. I guess I should have paid more attention because 4 months later I recieved my FIRST bill.... for $800!!! I thought they were taking payments but apparently I was wronge. I reached out to make payment plans and was told that they didn't offer that service and that i would have to pay the bill in full. You would think for someone who screwed up you'd want to work with your customers! They said they would have a supervisor call me... which they didn't. Ive made Numerous calls, complaints and reminders about the cable that is still laying across my yard where my kids play. All I get told is there's a open investigation on construction and that a supervisor will call me. In the mean time I made payments. Came home yesterday to my service being cut off!!! I was livid! Made yet another call, and to hear the same sad excuses and AGAIN was told her supervisor would call me...And im still waiting.... just all around, poor customer service, poor installation.. sad cause they do offer great internet. They are extremely lucky that they are my only option with internet cause I Would not pay another dime into them if I had a choice!

This company is very difficult to deal with. Early on in the planning stages they would not follow through on their action items and would just come and plant flags across my yard along a route I explicitly did not want. After discussing again and over many weeks of waiting to get back to me they would just show up and plant flags along the same route. After a few repeats of this pattern I gave up and just cancelled the installation and said I didn't want any more contractors coming to my property. After confirming this over the phone and through emails, the flags would just reappear again. Now, I understand it might take some time for the cancellation request to flow through the system, but many months later I got another notice from a new contractor acting on behalf of Valley Fiber that they are coming to install at my location and would be flagging the property. I immediately contacted Valley Fiber (with the email trail of previous cancellation notices) and stated again that I have cancelled the installation and that no contractor was supposed to come to my property. Well, weeks later, that contractor showed up at my door and said they would be doing the installation on my property (and I saw that flags were starting to appear on the street). I told that contractor that I have cancelled the installation on several occasions over the past many months and that no installation was to occur at my property. That contractor was very nice and apologized for the inconvenience. It seems I have thwarted the flagging of my yard for now, and I hope this is the last time.
