We found Teo and his company VerveSmith on google. We didn’t know what to expect, but we knew we needed help. Our son wanted to go to University out of province but was also exploring colleges in the US,,, and was at an age when he wanted to do this on his own. (We couldn’t have helped him anyway without hours and hours of research-which we tried). He was finding the application process difficult to navigate, and there were too many programs to choose from.

Teo is like a University coach. He gets to know his clients, not only for their aptitudes but also their interests so he can make recommendations on various universities that would be a good fit. He also provides recommendations on developing a robust extracurricular resume (eg volunteer opportunities) and reviews and comments on applications as well as admission essays. He has a background in university admissions so he is very knowledgeable.

With his coaching our son got into his first choice university and his first choice program, and was awarded one of the schools’ highest scholarships. Our son also enjoyed working with him, which made the process so much easier. We hired Teo at the start of grade 11, but he helps students at any point in the exploration and application process. We felt his fees were very reasonable and in retrospect, well worth the money. We would highly recommend him to anyone wanting to get it right!
