Who doesn’t love a quaint little book store?
Kincardine has a gem in the Word Squirrel Book Shop right off the Main Street on Durham Market Street North.
It’s not a large retail space, but they pack some great books in there.
And there are a few cozy chairs if you need to have a deeper look into the book before purchase.
Lots of free parking right across the street as well.

Word Squirrel Books is truly one of those hidden gems you never want to leave once you’ve stepped inside. The space is so warm and cozy, and every corner has clearly been created with love and care. Olivia has such a gift for recommending the perfect read — whether you’re in a slump or on the hunt for your next favourite book, she always knows just what to suggest. And don’t even get me started on the chats. You can just feel the heart and hard work that’s gone into this beautiful little bookstore. A must-visit for any book lover.
